The Sun is dropping into the Persian Gulf over one of the most ancient Sumerian cities in southern Iraq. The ruins now there were identified as Eridu, home of the god of the Abzu. Abzu can be translated as "subterranean fresh waters", or cosmic waters, or, literaly, "ocean of wisdom". The god's name was Enki who was believed to live in the Abzu and to possess infinite wisdom. He was also the god of magic and civilization. His image was the double helix snake.
